Entry and Application Procedures

Charity Bibs

The ¥500 bib contribution entitles athletes to show their name and a message of support for a disaster-stricken area on a bib attached to their backs. Athletes seeking a charity bib should specify this when entering.
* The total collected for the charity bibs, minus administration costs, will be donated to the Kobe Marathon Friendship Bank.
* JAAF-registered athletes are not permitted to wear a charity bib.

* Applicants residing in Japan who cannot read Japanese can apply for entry from the overseas entry site (English).
Please be sure to read the Application Guidelines before applying.

* Please refrain from applying both as an individual and as a team member.
* 1% of the entry fee will be donated to the Kobe Marathon Friendship Bank.
* Those seeking a charity bib must provide an additional ¥500 separate from the entry fee. JAAF-registered athletes are not permitted to wear a charity bib.

Detailed application procedures

If the number of applicants exceeds capacity when application is made by the following methods, a drawing will be held. Only those selected in the drawing will be required to pay the entry fee. Please select an application method and follow those procedures. Applicants choosing to use the dedicated money transfer form will be required to pay ¥500 at the time of application as an administration fee.

Payment of Entry Fee Successful entrants are required to deposit their entry fee to a designated account by a designated date. Failure to do so will invalidate entry. Some payment methods may incur a fee.
Notes

* Entry as both an individual and as a team member is not allowed. If you wish to apply via the dedicated money transfer form, please refer to the Kobe Marathon Registration Center. 
* When applying via the dedicated money transfer form, a separate administration fee of ¥500 must be paid at the time of application. If the form is incomplete or illegible, the application will not be processed. Internet applications are therefore recommended.

* Disabled applicants (those carrying disability cards) should complete the necessary parts of the application.

* If shirt size is not noted on the application, an S size will be sent to women, and an M size to men.

Terms of Kobe Marathon application

* All applicants must agree to the following terms:

  • In the event of illness, loss, or other incident, the organizers accept no responsibility other than to take emergency measures.
  • After applying, entrants cannot change events or cancel due to personal circumstances.
  • False representation of age or sex, or entry by a person other than the applicant (false entry) are not allowed.
  • If the event is cancelled due to earthquake, wind or flood damage, snowfall, some sort of incident, accident, or disease, the entry fee and/or other charges will not be refunded.
  • Over-payments or double payments cannot be refunded.
  • The organizers will retain publication and portrait rights for such media as television, newspapers, magazines, or the Internet with respect to images, photos, articles, entrants’ names, ages, addresses (name of country, name of prefecture or equivalent administrative unit, or name of city, ward, town, or village), etc.
  • The organizers will handle the personal information of the entrants in accordance with laws and regulations relating to the protection of personal information.
  • This event shall be implemented in compliance with all the relevant laws of Japan.
  • The organizers shall stage this event in compliance with the event stipulations as well as the terms of application.

Cautions When Applying

  • Multiple applications by the same individual will result in rejection of the applications.
  • Entrants may not simultaneously apply for, or simultaneously participate in, the marathon and quarter marathon. Be sure to apply for one event only. If the same individual is found to be applying for more than one event, he or she will be disqualified and no refund will be made after the application.
  • False declaration of age, sex, records or other information, and entry by a person other than the applicant (false entry) are not allowed.
  • No change, amendment, or cancellation can be made to the application after the application has been made. The secretariat will contact the applicant via applicant’s email address or telephone number only in the case of a problem with the content of an applicantion.
  • Please note that the Registration Center or secretariat will not respond to telephone questions or inquiries about the status of an application or results of the drawing.
  • All applicants will be notified of the results of the drawing by email or post by June 30. However, please be aware that the organizers will not be able to reconfirm the drawing results if the notification fails to arrive or goes astray due to a problem with the email or contact address provided by the applicant.
  • Substitute entry or transfer of entry rights is not permitted and will result in disqualification. In such cases, the organizers can make no indemnity or refund whatsoever.
  • The organizers bear no responsibility for late applications resulting from problems with the postal service or the Internet.
  • When applying via the Internet, the computer terminal, operating system, or browser used by the applicant may prevent the applicant from being able to file his or her application.
