Regarding the Kobe Marathon 2021 scheduled to be held on Sunday, November 21, 2021, we have been working hard to prepare for a safe and secure marathon with COVID-19 countermeasures to be implemented in accordance with the Japan Association of Athletics Federations’ “Guidance for Return of Road Races.”
The emergence of the genetic variants of SARS-CoV-2, however, has made it difficult to make predictions. Considering the current COVID-19 situation in Hyogo and the rest of the country, as well as other factors such as the medical service system which is essential for holding the event both safely and securely, we have decided to postpone the Kobe Marathon 2021 again, with the new date to be set in November of 2022.
We are sorry to disappoint everyone who has been looking forward to the event, as well as those who have been supporting us. We appreciate your understanding and pray that the COVID-19 pandemic will be fully contained soon. We will continue to do our best to prepare for a marathon that will live up to your expectations and look forward to seeing your smiles. Thank you for your continuous support to the Kobe Marathon.
