Competition Rules
According to the 2024 World Athletics (WA) rules, Japan Association of Athletics Federations competition rules, and tournament regulations for this tournament.
Additionally, as this event is a WA Label Race certified by World Athletics, the World Athletics Label Road Races Regulations will also apply.
Doping tests will be conducted in accordance with World Athletics (WA) regulations.
Time Limits
7 hours
- The time limit is based on the first gun.
- A checkpoint closing time will be set for traffic, security, and competition management. If you are significantly late even outside the barrier, you may be urged or instructed to stop the competition.

Eligibility for participation (including invited players)
Those born before April 1, 2006
- Those who can complete the race within 6 hours and 30 minutes.
- Runners are prohibited from transferring their entry rights or asking other persons to run on their behalf. Runners will be disqualified if any impropriety is discovered.
- Clothing, costumes, etc. that violate public order and morals and are inappropriate for a sporting event are not permitted.
- This event is not open to wheelchair users.
- In both the marathon and relay runs, people with disabilities who find it difficult to run alone may be accompanied by a companion.
Accompanying runners must also register as runners.
Guide dogs are not allowed to provide accompaniment. - If you are a person with a disability, please bring your physical disability certificate etc. to the runner reception desk.
Entry fee
21,500 yen (per person)
- Includes participation fee and charity donation
- Includes a charity donation of 200 yen, which will be used at the Kobe Marathon Friendship Bank.
Way to participate
1. Method
Apply from JTB Sports Station or RUNNET GLOBAL.
- When registering on each website, you must agree to the membership terms.
2. Period
From noon on Friday, April 12, 2024 to 11:59 a.m. on Monday, August 19, 2024 (JST)
3. Determination of Participants
Participation will be confirmed upon payment of the participation fee.
Please note that registration will close as soon as the capacity is reached.
4.Payment of participation fee
After applying from the "JTB Sports Station" or "RUNNET GLOBAL" site, please follow the instructions and confirm that the payment of the participation fee has been completed.
Even if your application is complete, if the participation fee is not paid by the specified date, your participation will not be confirmed and your application will be invalidated.
5. Notes
If you are a person with a disability (person with a disability certificate), please fill out the necessary information on the participation application form.

- The event will only be held during the above hours and will not be held on the day of the event (November 17th).

Awards (Planned)
- Overall (gross time): The top eight men and top eight women runners
- Age group: 1st to 8th place for men and women in 5-year increments
※Excluding those eligible for the overall award.
Certificate of Completion
A completion certificate will be issued to those who complete the marathon. Each person will have to download it from RUNNET.
- In addition to the marathon, records are also recognized for 25 kilometers and 30 kilometers. However, this applies only to those who finish the course.
Personal Information
The organizers recognize the importance of privacy and will handle personal information based on the event's information protection policy in compliance with laws and regulations relating to personal information protection.Personal information will be used for such purposes as drawing lots, providing information on participation, giving notification of related information, offering services from Kobe Marathon sponsors, co-sponsors, co-organizers and related organizations, giving first-aid treatment and coordinating with medical institutions, and announcing records (including rankings) with the aim of improving services to entrants.
Within the scope of operation of this event, personal information may also be provided to related business entities (including World Marathon Majors LLC, based in the United States, which operates Abbott World Marathon Majors, and the Tokyo Marathon Foundation).
- Note that the organizers or the Kobe Marathon Runner Call Center may use your personal information to contact you and confirm information related to your application.

If the event is canceled or reduced due to reasons not attributable to the organizer (warnings, earthquakes, wind and flood damage, snowfall, incidents, accidents, illness, etc.), the entry fee will not be refunded.

Those who have underlying diseases (diabetes, heart failure, respiratory disease, hypertension, those receiving dialysis, those using immunosuppressants, anticancer drugs, etc.) should refrain from participating.

Baggage checked by participants will be transported by the organizer from the start point to the finish point.

The organizer will not be held responsible for any delays due to public transportation or road conditions on the day of the event.

It is prohibited to wear or display advertisement-like designs, trademarks, etc. that mean company names, product names, etc. at the event venue (including on the course).

Drones other than those used by the organizer, co-sponsor, sponsor, etc. and similar unmanned flights are prohibited from being brought into, operated, and flown at the event.

Posting videos, photos, articles, location information, participants' names, ages, residences (names of prefectures or cities, towns and villages), records, etc. of the event on television, newspapers, magazines, the Internet, printed materials issued by the organizer, etc. Rights and portrait rights belong to the organizer.

This event will serve as a qualifying event for the Abbott World Marathon Majors Wonder Age Group World Rankings.

This tournament will be conducted in compliance with all relevant domestic laws.

Participation in the competition must be done after training sufficiently and taking care of your physical condition, such as undergoing a medical examination in advance.
