Partnership Event
Gold Coast Marathon
The Kobe Marathon has partnered with the Gold Coast Marathon held in Australia since the first event in 2011 to promote friendship and goodwill. Since 2018, the two marathons have been sending top runners to each other's marathons.
The 44th Gold Coast Marathon will be held in Australia on Saturday, July 6th and Sunday, July 7th, 2024. Every year, about 1,000 runners from Japan participate in the event, making it one of the most popular overseas marathons among Japanese people.
The course is flat and easy to run on, and 60% of the finishers improve their personal best. Moreover, with only a one-hour time difference from Japan, the conditions are easy to maintain, making this an IAAF-certified race recommended for beginners as well as veteran runners who are looking to break their records.
There's fun for the whole family to enjoy, with the "Junior Dash" for kids, the "10km Run" for adults and the "5km Fun Run" for grandparents.
Why not escape the hot and humid weather in Japan in early July and enjoy an "overseas marathon'' in the breezy Gold Coast?
Partnership and Exchange Event
The theme of the Kobe Marathon is "Thanks&Friendship." The marathon is held in areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake and the Kumamoto Earthquake, and aims to convey gratitude for the recovery and restoration from the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, as well as the experiences and lessons of the disaster, to the entire nation.
Kumamoto Castle Marathon
The Kumamoto Castle Marathon has been held in Kumamoto City since 2012, and the course runs through the history and cityscape of Kumamoto, from the center of the city through the southwestern part of the city and finishing at Kumamoto Castle, which has been designated a special national historic site.
Sendai International Half Marathon
The Sendai International Half Marathon is a historic event that has been held since 1991.
This course takes in scenery typical of Sendai, the "City of Trees," including Aoba-dori Street and Jozenji-dori Street, with its beautiful green tunnel created by rows of zelkova trees.
Tohoku/Miyagi Reconstruction Marathon
The Tohoku Miyagi Reconstruction Marathon is one of the largest marathons in the Tohoku region, and began in 2017 with the aim of contributing to the reconstruction of the disaster-stricken areas, bringing together many runners with a passion for reconstruction.
The course starts in Sendai city and runs through the disaster-stricken coastal areas, allowing participants to experience the city's changing appearance and the progress of reconstruction.
